Mr. Ganesh Prasad

Mr. Ganesh Prasad is the Chief Audit Officer at SBI Life Insurance Company Limited. He leads the company’s internal controls, risk management framework, and governance processes. In his role, he works closely with the Board and senior management to ensure strong oversight and reinforce stakeholder confidence in the organisation.

He brings over two decades of experience across banking, risk management, audit, and governance assurance. He has held senior leadership roles within the State Bank of India Group, including assignments in international operations and audit functions, gaining wide exposure to diverse regulatory and business environments.

Before joining SBI Life, he served as Vice President & Concurrent Auditor at SBI Hong Kong Operations. Earlier, he was Chief Investment Officer at SBI General Insurance Company Limited. He has also worked as Manager – Mid Office at SBI UK Operations and as Assistant General Manager (Market Risk) at the SBI Corporate Centre. These roles provided him with strong exposure to global banking systems and regulatory frameworks.

Mr. Prasad holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB) from IIBF. He has also earned professional certifications including Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) from ACAMS, Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) from GARP, and Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) from IIBF.

He is known for his steady leadership and structured approach. His work strengthens transparency, accountability, and long-term institutional resilience at SBI Life.
