Some easy tips to rev you up for a great day at work.
Tired, stressed, unable to do your best at work? Try these easy fixes:
#1.Get a good night’s sleep.
Many of us fail to see that good quality sleep dramatically improves your work performance. You’ve probably experienced it yourself: not sleeping enough ruins the next morning, and you struggle to get through the day. Do yourself a favour and sleep as early as you can for a few nights – and notice how much sharper you are at work.
#2.Log out of social media.
Most of us are so attuned to our social media feeds, that we unconsciously keep checking on them even in the middle of work. But it can shift focus away from the task at hand. Regulate your social media use while at work. You might switch off mobile data so that you are not distracted by constant notifications on your phone. Check your feeds a few times a couple of times a day.
#3.Make a To-Do list.
Creating a list of tasks to complete for the day aligns your thoughts in the right order. It helps you organise your day and prioritise tasks. Once you finish each task, put a tick mark against it. This practice keeps you focussed on completing everything on the list.

#4 Keep your desk clutter-free.
Clutter is a major distraction, especially if it forces you to look for items you misplaced or clear up some working space before you can start your day. A clean desk is a welcome sight, and it motivates you to work efficiently. Take a few minutes to set your desk to rights at the end of the day before heading out.
#5 Have coffee or tea but within limits.
Each of us needs a shot of caffeine to wake up properly in the morning, and also a few cups of tea or coffee to get through a busy day. But did you know that too much coffee or tea can actually become a problem? You might overstimulate your system to the extent that your brain becomes hyperactive and unable to focus on the task at hand. Restrict yourself to about three cups of coffee or tea in a day.
#6.Eat well
How much and what you eat has an impact on your productivity levels. Greasy, spicy food slows down your digestion and makes you sluggish. Have a hearty breakfast comprising oats, or puffed rice, or dosa, and fruit juice or milk. For lunch, go light with a salad, or a couple of rotis with vegetables. Food that is digested easily does not slow you down or make you sleepy.
#7.Be on your feet whenever you can.
Sitting all day at your desk will tire you out and make your joints ache. Whenever possible, get up from your seat and take a short stroll around the office. This boosts blood circulation and staves off lethargy.
