For any life insurance company, Settlement of a Claim is the ‘Moment of Truth’ as it is the time to fulfil the promises made to the policyholder. At SBI Life, it always has been our constant endeavour to ensure that all genuine claims are settled within the minimum processing time

Touch Points for submitting Claim Intimation:

The claim can be intimated in writing at any of the below touch points:
Any of the SBI Life Branch Office
Directly at our Corporate Office at Andheri or Central Processing Centre at Belapur

Documentation:

For Maturity Claims -
Original Policy document
Bank Pass Book or Cancelled Cheque of the claimant
KYC of the claimant
Maturity Discharge Voucher

For Death Claims -

Mandatory documents are as below:
Claim Form
Death Certificate
Original Policy document
Bank Pass Book or Cancelled Cheque of the claimant*
KYC of the claimant*
  (Nominee/ Assignee / Legal Heirs)

The above documents can be sent through post / courier or through Hand Delivery

Claims Settlement in case of NRI Policyholder / Claimant:

If the policyholder / claimant is an NRI, any claim payable under the policy (Survival Benefit / Maturity / Death / Health Claim) shall be paid in Indian Rupees only, by way of credit to the NRO account of the policyholder / nominee. No payment is allowed in foreign currency.

 

The policy amount can also be credited to an NRE account of the policyholder / claimant, in Indian Rupees, if the same NRE account has been used for payment of premium for the policy. In such a case, an undertaking or No-Objection certificate is required from the bank branch where the NRE account is held by the customer, allowing a clear mandate for any debit/credit from/to the NRE account.
